Everyone creates events under a club name instead of their personal profile. You can use our default members' club [Social Republic] or use your own. To do that, just change the details and add your own club image. Make sure you enter your club settings so we know your time zone and currency.
No. Members can email via our site you to ask questions but they are not told your email address.
Just design your event, and enter the details here. You can save your event page and when happy, publish it. Then wait for members to put themselves on the Waiting List. When you decide you have enough people to make up a party, transfer members from the Waiting List to the Guest List. Those lucky ones receive an email with further details about the event and how to pay. You then manage any receipts and then go, and look after your guests.

They include your time, organizing or culinary and negotiating skills, ability to use your judgment to match guests, popularity as a host and a track record of happy members. Most members are too busy to organise and are too happy for someone else to do the work.

By any method you want. The event entry form asks you how members should pay you and we reveal that to members when you add them to the guest list. You can also say what the amounts guests pay beforehand and at the venue. This allows you to ask for deposits, sell a ticket to your event, get people to pay at the door or when the bill comes.
You can remove them from the Guest List and they will be informed by email. If it was an error of some kind, the member can reapply and you can accept them.
Members should understand that they might not be invited. There is no need to contact them - in fact you can't until they are on the guest list!. You are selecting people on criteria that you don't need to share - it's your event after all.
Yes. We just ask you stick to the club idea. If you have the time to actively select guests then you are half way there. Remember to put our members on one table or area and please do not add other people to it from outside.
It depends. If you have not moved anyone from the waiting list to the guest list, then it's OK to just let the event go into history. Well done for having a go. Kudos to you, you did something right. We all need to learn what works and what does not in our areas, so it is wise to try things and not expect instant mass appeal. Take a little time to think about what you should do differently next time. If you are going straight into sit-down dinners, consider a stand-up option first, like a drinks party, so people can check each other out and give their support when they realize what talented, interesting and wonderful people are members are.
You can always go ahead with a small number - do not underestimate the pleasure of meeting a few people in a bijou group. You have more time to talk about things and do so in more depth.

Yes, but this is undesirable. We understand that things happen and sometimes cancelling is the wisest thing to do. You only need to cancel if you have a guest list, in which case we will inform them. We will mark your event as canceled and members will be able to see this in your history. If you have no guests, then just let the event slide into history.
